Three steps to build your own manufacturing plant
While setting up a manufacturing unit, there are three major steps which need to be followed:
1. Research: While initialising the idea of the business, a lot of research regarding various aspects pertaining to the idea is necessary. Knowledge about the demand of your offering in the current market, it's future prospects with regards to your target audience, an appropriate location for the setup of the manufacturing unit keeping in mind it's proximity to the market and availability of electricity and water. If we consider boilers, keeping in mind what they are based out of, i.e., biomass or oil and gas, can help us decide on the appropriate location of the plant. Having clarity on all these checkpoints will reduce the risk of ending up with an unsuccessful plant.
2. Finance and Budget: Setting up a manufacturing unit has various costs attached to it. Keeping in mind, the allocated budget for your plant, prepare and sort a list of expenses and investments to be made, such as for the location, setup of the plant, machinery to be purchased, the workforce to be hired, etc. The major keynote is to find ways which are affordable yet effective. This way, the plant will run smoothly and suit your budget too.
3. An efficient workforce: In order for the plant to function flawlessly, an effective and efficient team of individuals is necessary, and for that, it is crucial to hire people keeping in mind their experience and expertise. Governing the workforce with rules and regulations is equally important as different industries have a different set of standards which has to be fulfilled, such as standards for boiler companies in India would be different to the food manufacturing units.
Apart from these steps, various other things need to be kept in mind, on the basis of the industry for which you are setting up your unit and your business model.
