Products of Air pollution control



While we were busy arguing whether the climate is changing or not, climate change has occurred rapidly. Climate change is one of the greatest problems mankind is facing. A major contributor to this problem has been air pollution. We can still curb the problem of climate change while it’s still in the nascent stage. A giant step towards this would be to reduce air pollution. To address this, several industries must take the initial step now. These industries need to acquire a societal outlook. One where they give back to the society while earning profits. It is time they reduce the air pollution their factories may be contributing to. How do they do this? Well, here are a few air pollution control systems that can help you reduce or completely curb air pollution their factories could be performing.

Electrostatic precipitators

Companies like Thermax provide this type of product. It is a device that removes particles from flowing gas. In this device, the particles are attracted to or deposited on plates and other devices. These devices are then shaken to remove the particles. These particles which fall down are then collected by necessary requirements.

Bag filters

This product can be modified according to requirements. It is available in several configurations to adjust according to different applications. This product helps in separating particulates out of the air or gasses released from factories. There are several different types of bag filter such as Shakers, Pulse jet type, Reverse air, etc. 

Wet scrubbers

To remove particles from the exhaust streams of a factory a wet scrubber is used. This is how it works. It introduces a scrubbing liquid to the dirty gas stream. This liquid is generally water. The gases are then collected in scrubbing liquid.  They are one of the most efficient air pollution controlling systems.  

Combofilter

Previously several factories had installed Electrostatic Precipitators (ESPs). They were designed for the earlier norms of 150 mg/Nm3. Pollution control board in India has now changed this norm to 30 mg/Nm3. To deal with this problem Thermax has introduced a new technology. It solves the problem by retrofitting old ESPs. No extra space or civil work is required.   

Modular gas cooler 

This product is used for cooling down hot gases before they enter the bag filter. It is a bare tube or a shell and tube type, heat exchanger. A cooling medium is blown over the tubes usually by ventilator flow fans. The fans are controlled to provide cooling at optimum fan power.

These are the products that organisations can use to reduce the air pollution caused by their factories. There are two advantages to this. First of all, it is necessary to use this product to meet the standards set by the government. Secondly, it is necessary to curb the problem of air pollution. It is very important that now the primary aim of a businessman should be profit, but the secondary aim should be giving back to society.
